What it means
A place in the standings means total awarded value across the year so far, as published in the award notices we could value. It is a running total, not a prediction of where a supplier finishes: a single large contract landing or lapsing in a later quarter can move the table substantially. The Tender Gazette Supplier Awards publish these standings every quarter and close the year with a final ranking once Q4 has completed.
Method
Computed once, from contract award notices published between 2026-01-01 and the end of Q2 2026 (the notice publication date, not the award date), drawn from the UK public procurement notice feeds: the same aggregation and window logic as the quarterly Supplier League (league_tables.py), simply run over a longer, year-to-date window. Award value is attributed to the winning supplier named on each notice; where a notice names one supplier and a single value, that value is attributed to them, and where notices break value down by supplier, those amounts are used. Awards with no usable value (3,930 supplier records in this window) are excluded. Suppliers are grouped by resolved organisation, so name variants for the same firm are combined. Figures are as published and are not adjusted for later amendments. Supplier records whose notice carries a withheld name or free text instead of an organisation name (9 in this window) are excluded from the ranking and the totals.
