The Ministry of Defence has awarded Rowden Technologies a £8.3m contract to provide secure cloud hosting for a mobile geospatial service for dismounted situational awareness. The work includes integrating the TAK server with MOD identity and access management systems using compatible tools.
The Ministry of Defence has awarded Rowden Technologies £8.3m to build and host secure cloud infrastructure for a mobile geospatial service designed to give troops on the ground real-time situational awareness.
The contract centres on the TAK server, a geospatial application. Rowden will integrate it with the MOD's identity and access management systems, allowing users and other TAK services to authenticate through MOD security infrastructure. For the proof of concept at Rowden, the supplier will demonstrate the integration using tools compatible with MOD identity systems rather than connecting directly to the MOD provider.
The contract was awarded on 22 June 2026. Rowden Technologies is based in the UK.
