The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), acting for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), has awarded Atos IT Services UK Limited a £350m contract to manage and maintain its applications estate.
The scope covers three core service areas: Service Management to oversee day-to-day IT service delivery; Application Management Services to keep the police force's software and systems running with high availability; and Applications Security, integrated with the MPS's managed security provider to protect data and users. Two optional services, Managed Cloud and Digital Workplace, may be added at the authority's discretion, with timing and volume decisions held by the buyer.
Service commencement is expected to begin on a date to be confirmed by the authority, which also retains the right to defer the start. The MPS said it expects the split between core and optional services to remain stable across the contract term.
