Lincolnshire County Council has awarded Alderson Limited a £37.5m contract to deliver its Home Based Reablement Service, a scheme designed to reduce dependency on long-term care by intervening early to prevent deterioration.
The service works by setting personalised reablement goals with each person, developing their daily living and problem-solving skills, and providing equipment, technology, living aids and access to community assets. The central aim is to maximise people's independence and wellbeing while minimising whole-life care costs.
The council expects people supported through reablement to transition to reduced or no ongoing long-term sequential service once goals are met. The contract took effect on 2 August 2026.
