Defence Equipment and Support, the MOD's procurement arm, has awarded a £512.6m contract to Lockheed Martin UK Limited for the Out of Service Date Extension Programme, a scheme to prolong the operational utility of military equipment through demonstration and manufacturing work.

The contract was published as a transparency notice on 15 June 2026, following the award decision. Lockheed Martin, based in the UK, will lead the demonstration and manufacture phase of the programme.

Transparency notices on defence contracts allow the MOD to publish award details after the fact, rather than through an open tender process. Suppliers unable to bid for this particular contract may have opportunities on future OSDEP work or related programmes that Defence Equipment and Support will pursue through Find a Tender.
